European Offshore Wind Energy Conference & Exhibition 2009
Offshore Wind 2009: Set sail for Sweden!
European Offshore Wind Conference & Exhibition
Stockholm, Sweden
14 – 16 September 2009
Stockholm represents the ideal setting for the 3rd bi-annual Offshore Wind Conference & Exhibition. Sweden’s huge potential for offshore wind development and its 2009 Presidency of the EU make it the obvious choice for the 2009 event.
“We are proud that EWEA has chosen Stockholm to host the next European Offshore Wind Conference in 2009. Sweden is one of the few EU member states that have the potential to contribute to the substantial offshore development that is necessary to meet the renewable energy target for Europe in 2020.”
Matthias Rapp
Swedish Wind Energy Association
From strong beginnings……
The Copenhagen Offshore Wind Conference in 2005 was attended by more than 100 exhibitors and 1000 delegates from across Europe.
European Offshore Wind 2007 in Berlin attracted over 2000 participants and 120 exhibitors and was the largest ever offshore event worldwide!
“The three days of discussions and presentations at the European offshore wind conference have amply demonstrated the power and potential of this form of energy. Europe must now prioritise clean technologies such as offshore wind in order to meet its renewables objective”, Kaj Lindvig, Conference Chair of Offshore Wind 2007.
”...good opportunity to gather information on the current state of the offshore wind industry.” Vestas, Denmark
”...return on investment of the conference was very good.” VDMA Power Systems, Germany
”...again, the best offshore event worldwide.” Iberdrola, Spain
”...a very good opportunity to meet relevant actors in the market.” Vattenfall, Sweden
Building on these successful events in Berlin and Copenhagen, the 2009 event will bring together policy makers, technical specialists, operational teams, business leaders and academics to deliver the latest developments and discoveries in offshore wind.
