Carbon Advisory Manager

KPMG ’s Sustainability Advisory practice is a successful and growing part of KPMG ’s advisory business. In response to the launch of KPMG ’s multidisciplinary Carbon Advisory Group and the heightened demand for our carbon management services, we are now looking to expand the team with an experienced carbon management resource. Key areas of work delivered by the team include advising our clients on the development of approaches to corporate responsibility (inc. climate change, HSE and social performance), providing assurance on corporate responsibility reporting, social and environmental due diligence in transactions, and establishing appropriate organisational frameworks for corporate risk management. We are offering our new recruit the opportunity to:

  • Work with the senior management teams of leading global organisations to help establish business responses to the challenges and opportunities presented by climate change

Responsibilities

  • Business development – establishing and managing new client relationships, identifying their carbon management needs and generating business opportunities for the team
  • Engagement management and delivery – leading the delivery of carbon advisory engagements for key clients
  • Ongoing service line development – contributing to the further development of our carbon advisory proposition and associated thought leadership
  • Team management – taking an active role in the ongoing development of the wider business including the development of our people.

The Individual

The successful candidate will:

  • Have extensive post graduate experience in either an in-house or advisory capacity
  • Have practical experience of managing the climate change issues faced by major public and private sector organisations
  • Take personal responsibility and accountability for their work

Additional Information/Qualifications

Qualifications
  • Relevant MSc desirable
Professional
  • Industry and advisory experience
Technical
  • Appropriate climate change experience with experience of helping their own or other organisations with their carbon strategies including regulatory responses, trading, mitigation strategies and external commitments
  • Broad sector experience
  • Ability to assess climate change risks and opportunities and to articulate the business case for carbon management
  • Management systems/business process implementation
  • Good understanding of UK and international climate change policy.
